] Date Posted: 23/05/07 16:09 In reply to: whitewolf 's message, "Mars starts using animal products" on 14/05/07 12:02 I am veggie. Eating meat isn't necessary for me therefore if I did it would boils down to indulgence. That means for my satisfaction and pleasure and greed. I cannot find any other justification. To take life for that reason is something I feel is unethical. To cook meat for others at the expense of an animal when they do not need it, I could not do. Hence my children are veggie but I work very hard at ensuring them a protein rich diet. Blessings Mel. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 23/05/07 19:05 I eat organic meat sometimes (fish) but I try to be mindful of the whole chain of beings that have sacrificed for my pleasure. When I allow my heart to indicate to me the path to take, I do not want to eat meat and feel dreadfully unhappy doing so. But alas I do and it is for my own enjoyment. I am working on my shortcomings. I am not vegan however and cannot see it happening any time soon. It upsets me that there is all this hormonal engineering so I try to only drink organic milk and cheese...nature wouldn't put an animal on the planet that relied on milking to stay well! The dairy industry is scary. Eggs so long as they are not fertilised I consider OK. There is something about needing to give voice to the voiceless (abused mistreated animals) by voting with my feet. Of course it's not possible to live without causing harm, but by relatively kinder dietary choices, I feel I can drastically reduce the harm I cause to other living creatures and to the environment.
