(lol) every 3 or 4 weeks we (dad and i... and sometimes i alone) go up to the crematorium where we scattered Nan and Grandad's ashes together. they are scattered in the woodland area which is very peaceful and all natural woodland. we hung a bird feeder which we fill with peanuts on every visit. we are (understandibly) not allowed to put anything -such as an ornament or anything not natural to the surrounding environment in or around the trees, so this week (yesterday) when we went to visit them, i sprinkled some woodland flower seeds around their area under the tree. what i would really like to do is 'take' some kind of blessing with me when i go alone .... dad's not really in to 'chatting with them' lol unlike me who -when i go there on my own, update them on the local gossip! (weired i know) anyway.... i am hoping as the weather gets warmer, i can take my blanky and a candle in a jar -maybe a bit of insence and sit there for a while with them.... as i was never left alone at the scattering i'd like to do it now but the ground is still too cold and damp, So (Sam actually get's to the point of the post lol) I need some help in a suitable blessing for them as i have no idea where to start!! either some ideas or blessing tips!! Date Posted: 10/04/07 17:44 When I visit the place where my younger sisters ashes are scattered, I just take a small container or jar and a tea light. As her ashes were scattered in an area of natural scientific beauty, like yourself, you cannot leave any thing that would look out of place. I think, your idea of a few scattered seeds is a good idea. Its something you can identify with but doesn't look to anyone else like its been placed. As for a blessing? why not just spend some time reflecting on and giving thanks for all they taught you and the part in your life they played?
