] Date Posted: 17/04/07 17:13 OH No!! went to the docs the other day as i have been suffering with a swollen leg for a while and just lately it has started aching,,he did some blood tests (soon i will have NO blood left LOL) and called me back the same day to say i dont have a dvt! Then . i was at work today and dr called me on my mobile, apparently he discussed my case with a colleague over the weekend and they came to the conclusion that due to my operations in the past, i should have an emergancy appt at my local hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so... i left work and trundled off, i saw a lovely doctor who measured my (hairy !!) legs **well if i'd had notice i would have shaved !!** and my right leg is almost 5 cm bigger in circomfrance than my left one !! the doc also did more blood tests and then got the nurse to give me an injection in the belly of warfarin. they say they are treating it as a dvt but i have to go back to the hospital x ray dept tomorrow lunch time to have an ultra sound scan done of my leg, and if there is a clot it will show and if there's not a clot , then hopefully the scan will show what is causing the swelling (the doc said it could be something to do with my lymph nodes as i had lymph node surgery!) anyway, can you please just keep me in your thoughts tomorrow from 12:15 for about an hour...... Date Posted: 18/04/07 21:43 Well!!! the ultra sound scan and 2 lots of blood tests have proved there is no clot there, (yay!) but i still have a puffy leg! the doc i saw in the discharge lounge at hospital said it's due to the surgery i had 3 years ago that because of the speed of nerves and muscles blood vessels etc in my pelvic area on the right side is slower than the left, this is making the fluid drain slower from my left leg.. and over time it will heal itsself, but in the mean time i have to excercise and carry on as normal and when i go to bed in the evening, i have to raise my leg slightly so the fluid drains back properly!! so, basically it's still healing up from surgery 3 years ago and can take anytime to heal!! he did say i would have to go back if the pain became bad or constant or i find the swelling gets worse. while i'm here. i'll just say thank you all for your support bless you all, i felt you all with me! love you Sam xxxxx (snowtiger says hi too) xx [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
