Date Posted: 19/01/07 13:54 I'm not sure I understand it Sweetsong but it is common these days. It used to be only men who would react like this, now it is women to. That is an obvservation not a comment. I suspect it has something to do with showing emotion..or not showing it. Consider how the people in the Garden react to anothers good news?....Now I think the people here have no problem displaying love (non sexual of course) for others. However many non spiritual and younger people have a lot of trouble showing loving emotion to friends. This is their way of showing it. In a way the reaction of your friend was good. Consider the way some couples seem to throw sarcastic remarks at each other?...again it is their way of showing their love and that they care. It's just a matter of recognising this and accepting it as a compliment. It can take some getting used to though. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 19/01/07 15:47 Sweetsong, I really don't think your friend meant it as an insult - it's just another form of slang really... (just as 'wicked' can mean good or bad etc...). Imagine a smiley face after her comment. Saying "You B****" in the manner your friend did is another way of saying "you jammy so and so". The fact that your friend felt you two were relaxed with each other and thought you knew each other well enough to use 'friendly slang' should tell you something :) (It's a compliment sweetsong - perhaps put in a manner you might not be so familiar or comfortable with, but please don't take it to heart, it's a friendly thing). Congratulations on your promotion :) [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
