Here are just 3 of the 499 sayings of Confucius the Lun Yu. I felt they were rather apt, especially the first.

1. "Do not be concerned about people not appreciating you. Be concerned about your not appreciating others".

2. "To learn without thinking is to labour in vain. To think without learning is desolation".

And very apt for today's society...

3."Conduct guided by profit is cause for much complaint".
