Well the advice I would give would depend on where the nightmares are comming from. If they stem from problems in your life like a bad work situation or relationship, The way to deal with them would be very much different than dreams that are comming from spirit. Do you have a native american dream catcher. They can help.

HI there Pilgrim.
Dreams are probably steming from a lost love, but I cant really understand why, or why they are so intense.
Trying all stones, candles,incense etc: but nothing seems to be working.
I do have a dream catcher, and I will put it back up tonight. Just hope it works, sort of wasnt expecting any of this?..
Thanks Pilgrim.

Hi Newy,
don't know if this will help, no harm in trying anyway. I found this on children of Artemis.

BANISHING NIGHTMARES SPELL.

Take a naturally holed stone, place over bedroom door/window or even the bed.
Hang the stone and chant:

Let waves of dreams bless
let dreams not you stress,
let the wings of night enfold
let peaceful sleep you hold.
Blessed be.

Big hugs and bright blessings,love heather.xxxxx

Hi Newy,

if you're open to a suggestion which may sound a little unusual, but which I have used with success : sleep with your head at the foot of the bed, and your feet at the 'top' so that your sleeping position is rotated through 180 degrees (as if you're sleeping top to tail).

0-***====<
~~~~~~~~~~ normal sleeping position
>====***~0
~~~~~~~~~~ new sleeping position

If this makes no sense, please forgive me. If it does, try it out - you'll be surprised!

Warm wishes for a peaceful night's sleep,

Blackhawk

For those who ducked in on this one, would just like to say thanks.
Sleeping wrong way round just kept me awake.... Dreamcatcher seems to help a lot, and Heathers spell I cant do coz I aint got a naturally holed stone.
Anybody know where I could get one??????.

back to the subject!! lol
Newy................ do you have any mirrors in your bedroom area directly facing the bed?
i used to and until i moved the mirror from the area (facing from foot end to head end) I HAD SOME AWFUL DREAMS (oops caps !!)
It may be worth a try if you do tho apparently they (mirrors in the wrong places) can cause bad karma and reflect your thoughts - both positive and negative back at you - hence the weird / bad dreams .
wont be offended if you dont try this, but good luck anyways, how are things with you?
love sam xxxx ps take care. x

A citrine stone under your pillow at night is said to repel bad dreams.
But maybe you should endure these nightmares, they could be informative?
I've had the same dream for 4 nights in a row, it's not a nice one either, but i'm trying to figure out what it is telling me.

Hi newy - just a thought, did your nightmares start a few days before the latest full moon? is there a pattern to your dreaming which could link in with the moon phases?

If your looking for a folk-style remedy, you could try placing some rosemary and thyme herbs under your bed...

As you yourself have mentioned, you have been going through a rough patch, it's not surprising that you've been experiencing disturbed sleep / bad dreams.... but it WILL get better (((hugs)))

ditto the mirror bit from Sam, I can't sleep with mirrors facing the bed... we generally don't have mirrors in our bedroom, and if I sleep away and there's a mirror facing the bed I'll cover it over or turn it away from the bed.

Wishing you *sweet dreams*
