I wonder which song they will select to be put on the bolder ? The River ? I love that song. It would be my guess Leader of The Band will win out though. They should ask the fans, but they will probably go by the popularity of the song and I do suppose Leader of The Band was most popular. Any suggestions ??

You're probably right, and "Leader of the Band" would honor both him and his father; but I also like the lines "Illinois, I'm your boy," and "There's a place in the world for a gambler," if they're just going to use one line. I think "River of Souls" would be great, also, especially the lines,

"To every man the mystery
Sings a different song
He fills his page of history
Dreams his dreams and is gone"

The theme of rivers ran so deeply through so many of his songs, didn't it?

I would love to see a similar memorial in Deer Isle with the lyrics to "The Reach" written there. And another in Pagosa Springs, maybe with some lines from "The Wild Places."
