Also, in case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s a new article on the Tribute CD. This one actually has some quotes from Dan in it, which was a nice surprise. It’s great to see Dan in the news again, and especially for a wonderful tribute like this, and a worthwhile cause.

Long Effort Culminates in Release of Tribute to Nicolette Larson

Special to The Plain Dealer
This week's release of "The Nicolette Larson Tribute Concert" (Rhino) caps a nearly eight-year effort by the late singer's husband, drummer Russ Kunkel, to get the memorial show out to the public.
"Russ has worked very hard on this," says Dan Fogelberg, one of the all-star participants. "It's obviously something that's very near and dear to him, and it had to be done in the right way."
The tribute concert was actually a pair of concerts that took place Feb. 20-21, 1998, two months after Larson, best known for her hit cover of Neil Young's "Lotta Love," died from a cerebral edema. In addition to Fogelberg, the shows featured Jackson Browne, Jimmy Buffett, Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, Emmylou Harris, Joe Walsh, Little Feat and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Each of the artists performed songs of their own while joining forces to open the night with "Lotta Love" and close it with King's "You've Got a Friend."
"They were very special shows," Fogelberg says. "We were all together to mourn and heal, and we were there to comfort Russ as much as we were to remember Nicci. Just being together was special, because that doesn't happen very often anymore."
In addition to the "Tribute Concert" album, Rhino's Handmade division has released "Live at the Roxy," a limited-edition document of a 1978 concert that came out as a promotional release that year.
