Did Wimborne let Mark Smith go?

Many of the Cuthbury Faithful believe that the reason Smith left Wimborne was because after he broke his ankle playing for us against BAT near the end of the 05/06 season, that his ankle wouldn't be strong enough again to play at Wessex level although he re-appeared at Poppies last season.

Is this incorrect?
