This is a very good point.

Depsite all their big spending this season, Wimborne Town have, sadly, been a big disappointment against the top sides in the Wessex League.

The run in to the end of the season presents Wimborne Town with a major challenge as they have to face all the major title contenders apart from AFC Totton. The big question is have they got the right attitude and mentality to dig in, battle and grind out results to take the points from their title challengers? In the past, Wimborne Town players have, time and time again, lacked the requisite mental strength and desire to win such important games.

It will be interesting to see if the change of manager and playing personnel at Cuthbury this season will bring about a reversal of such mental weakness and see Wimborne Town Football Club crowned Wessex League Champions.

As a long standing supporter of the club, I hope the players will be successful in overcoming the many disappointments of recent years. Far too often in recent seasons, the players have let themselves, their management team and the fans down badly in the big games. I'm hoping for better from them this time around.
