How about considering the smaller clubs in the league, for instance the isle of wight teams of Brading and Cowes. They have only a area of 64 miles across to work from. This I mean they can only attract players from the island. Neither club pay money to their players and both in fact, until recently have paid to play.
Cowes and Brading finished 9th and 10th last year with limited resources and no money paid to any players. Both managers of those clubs have played at a decent level themselves
