Subject: Hatred is Thicker than BloodOr is it?
In reply to: S'peer -- Scarth 's message, "Who can explain?" on 02:03:09 05/14/05 Sat

Maria was pulling on one boot, and about to fasten it when S'peer began speaking.
What did she want to do?

You want to get out of there, that's what you want to do. You want to report this to Rinali, and get him banned.
You know, Myth, get a life. Stop trying to ruin mine.

She closed the buckle that secured the top of the soft boots to her knees, and stood. With one foot bare and the other clad in a black boot, she felt somehwat unbalanced.
From her waist band, she pulled a metal comb, and pulled it through her thick black hair.

"Honestly, S'peer, I don't know." She felt strange admitting it to the man, but it was the truth.

And Mama raised you to tell the truth, right?
No, Mama raised me to say what people want to hear. If Mama heard me, she'd die a very painful death.

Myth was silent.

Maria rebraided her hair, carefully untangling the free ends every time they snarled. When she reached the end, instead of tying it, she wove it through the silver ring.

((Hmmmm . . . never seen it. Sounds good, though!!))
