Saturday May 22 marks the opening of the 10th season for the Pine Bush Farmers Market. There will be plenty of fresh seasonal produce, music and art. Hours are from 9:00am to 1:30pm and the market is located behind the cultural center at the corner of Main and New Sts., Pine Bush NY. Linda Borghi of The Abundant Life Farm has a few offerings to tell you about. First up is the Full Moon Drumming Circle on Thursday May 27 starting at 7:00pm. Bring a sweet treat to share and Linda will have the coffee & tea ready. Donations are appreciated. Bring drums, rattles, bells or other noisemakers and extras to share if you have them. Drumming takes place on the farm at 153 Saxton Lane, Walker Valley NY. Call her at 845.744.6810 for more information or directions.

Linda would also like you to know that she will be offering free information on why eating from local farmers is important for your health and global health. She will also tell you why all local produce always taste better; why local products have more nutritional value than organic products from distant places and why if you’re eating meat you better make sure it’s grass fed beef or pork.

Linda is a recognized expert in growing food without poison. She will share her knowledge about using biodynamic sprays to produce compost and healthy soil without pesticides and fertilizers. We have a special event going on just for the ladies. On Saturday May 29 from 10:00am to 2:00pm there will be a Pistol & Rifle Fun Shoot where you can come and get some much needed practice or try something new. Bring your firearms, ammo and safety gear to the Walden Sportsmen’s Club, 1823 Route 52, Walden NY. Experienced coaches will be on hand to assist.
