The Sunset Series, Free Movies in LaPolt Park, Presents
Chicken Run

The Sunset Series, Movies in the Park at Dark, is showing Chicken Run, Saturday, June 26,, in Liberty’s LaPolt Park on North Main Street, at around 8:00 pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

Chicken Run, a “claymation” adventure from the creator of Wallace and Gromit, is a comedy escape drama with a touch of passion set on a sinister Yorkshire chicken farm in 1950s England. But really, it could be anywhere. Desperate to avoid the “fowl” fate of “Death by Chicken Pie,” Ginger, the “head chick,” deviously plots to free all the chickens on the farm. After every escape attempt is thwarted, she meets Rocky, the “flying rooster,” and decides that he holds the key to their freedom. Nominated for a 2001 Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture — Comedy/Musical, Chicken Run is a movie the whole family will love. Take a hint from the original tagline: This Ain't No Chick Flick!

Now in its second year, the Sunset Series is a collaboration of the Liberty Community Development Corporation, the Liberty Public Library, the Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Department, and Floyd and Bobo’s Bakery and Snack Palace.

Upcoming showings include the MGM musical classic The Wizard of Oz; the high-powered blockbusters Batman Begins and ET – the Extraterrestrial, and several animated favorites including Wall*E and Toy Story. The film series schedule is posted on the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce website: www.libertychamber.org .
