Steed halts in tracks, unsure of her interest in him. If she made no move again towards him, then why should he pursue her? She had made it quite obvious to other steed that she wanted no part of a herd...so why was he persisting so?

Femina who resided with him had claimed dominance, so to speak - she was carrying his get within her form. Since she was the only female that resided with him in Sunrise Over Delta, he had assumed that she had naturally taken the alpha position. But that was neither here or now, because ebon mare here obviously had lost interest.

Turning from the mare's path - leaving her to graze. He had tried to 'befriend' her, if that had even been possible - but for now, he could see that his efforts had been futile. Auditives lay back in frustration as sleek form reverses and retreats back towards the shadows...
