Being a 14 year old girl,and starting high school, it's hard to find that inner strengh and independence that many people my age seem to forget about. Mac's charater taught me that trying to be sombody else isnt everything in life. Sometimes accepting who you are and loving everything about you is what is most important. Mac showed me that even if you reach your losest point, you can just stand up and keep reaching higher. Watching JAG has even inspired me to look into a career in law or in the military. JAG has taught so much and has given me so much. I can't think of anything better to say than thankyou, for opening your heart to all of your beloved fans. You protrayed Mac to the best of your ability and i cant imagine anyone else playing such a wonderful character. Good luck in your future endearmeants and best of luck towards your family. In your marvellous career on JAG saga, "Adrift" was the top, your talent takes the dimension of the great actress you are, your tears have called mine, but they don't help you. You have invested all the free alveolus of our heart and all dewdrops of blood, we have, are kidnap by your sensibility. You don't read the script, and you don't play the screenplay, you have just lived the scene with all your heart and all your tears you have. You are "nature", your sentimentality blast on the screen without violence, but with your marvellous sweetest sadness you create.
Your strength is hardly noticeable because your suddenly frailness inundate the screen. You seem alone, never understanding by all you love, now you are very alone. Everybody wants to help you but all disintegrate around you, like the end of your own world.
Chloe sees your disarray before the events you don't controlled anymore, she becomes suddenly adult and you, a little girl who try to do face without success, Chloe is now your refuge, and your eyes sparklinga few seconds, but not enough and you plunge back into your lost dreams.
You are touching our hearts without concession, it is rare now.
No fireworks, no special effects, just you, only you.
I never follow the story of this double episode because you take all the place on the story and I just see your great confusion you create with an undeniable talent you give to us.

I cannot begin to explain to anyone all I've gotten from you. When I met you, my life changed for the better. You've touched my family with your generousity. I got the opportunity to get something signed for my uncle (who is battling thyroid cancer) and he almost started to cry when he got it. He's so proud of that autograph. I myself, started to cry when I recieved mail from Austin containing the note and picture from you.

As a woman, I certainly appreciated that you portrayed her like that : It gave us a good female role model to follow (as you're of course strong, smart, beautiful and kind). You really made a great job and some episodes gave you the chance to develop more of your acting abilities (I love "the stalker", "take it like a man" or "a 4 percent solution"). You're an amazing actress.

Thank you for bringing a dynamic, caring and very believable Sarah MacKenzie to our television screen for nine years. I liked JAG from the beginning, but when Mac shook hands with Harm in the Rose Garden, I knew this show was going to be something special. Everyone in the JAG family has become special to me, but you have the place of honor in my Jag heart. Beautiful, intelligent, take charge, sexy, loyal, tough yet vulnerable - as Mac, the Marine lawyer, you were all these things, and we fans related to you through your failures and your triumphs. We watched you grow both in the Mac role and as an actress. Both "The Four Percent Solution" and "Persian Gulf" were award winning performances, and we are proud of you.
It's been a pleasure to have watched all the JAG characters and episodes, and I will miss not seeing new episodes in the fall. But it has been a wonderful run, and all shippers will have many beautiful memories. As I look down through this “Thank You” board it is amazing how one character on one TV show has touched so many lives at so many different levels…and globally. It is a testament to the fact that given the right drive of producers, and the actors giving totally of themselves, to portray a character with such devotion, that those lives they touch can have such a profound impact; to the positive. You have had that distinct affect on so many…and not just on women. I see that impact on men as well.
Earlier this year, when it became official that DJE was leaving the JAG show, I expressed how each actor obviously brings a part of themselves into the character they develop. It is also obvious that you have done the same thing. It shows in the character you have developed, and is complemented by how you conduct your personal life as well.
I had not been introduced to your “Mac” character until around the time of September 11, 2001. However, prior to that I remember seeing you in the TV movie “Cab to Canada”. What struck me at the time was that you had a certain quality that, for me, was similar to Maureen O’Hara. You seemed to be such a complement to her. Perhaps it was the energy and fullness you bring to your characters.
I am one who seldom watches TV. I find it hard to watch when so many programs are so demoralizing and lack a quality that is positive in its nature. However, when I started watching JAG in 2001, I was intrigued and impressed. And over the last 4 years I saw your character as “real”. Having served in the Navy myself, as an officer, I watched how both you and DJE presented your characters. To say that you did those characters justice is an understatement. The positive approach that you helped develop that reflects the Marine Corp will have lasting affects far beyond the shows end. There are young people entering the Navy and Marine Corp today because of you…and your character. And I say your character because you developed that character with those specific attributes. Some of these people are even entering other branches of the service for the same reason. And some are looking to be JAG lawyers. What a legacy you leave with these people, as well as with some us who have already been there. The honor, integrity and respect you brought to the show, easily made you the “unofficial” spokesperson for the Marine Corp.
I hope we see you often in the future. Many thousands of us would like to see TV movies of follow ups of the JAG story. You and DJE have such an on screen chemistry that is such a reminder of other dynamic screen couples of past years. But, no matter what, it will be a pleasure to follow your career.
Finally, “Thank You” to you and your family for the sacrifices you have made to bring us the memories you helped to create. While I relate more to the character DJE created, I have many friends who are marines and they relate to the character you created. Maybe someday we will meet so I can salute you personally and say, thank you. Till then…Thank You. We salute you! Hoorah!!

Who knows how many young girls became female Marines because of you. Or decided to become lawyers all because you presented a strong and positive female influence. You've really done a fantasic job and I don't think anyone could have portrayed her nearly as well as you.

You show us that not only she could be the tough marine but she is a woman and even though we did not always she at best it made me feel like she was a human being and that she could handle any problems that may come her way. If I can be one tenth of what you made your character as Mac to be -strong, independent, loving, powerful, witty, smart, beautiful- (I could go on and on), then I will be a very complete and inspirational figure, just as you have been to me.
Thank you for everything you have done on JAG. I cried so much during the last two episodes of the series, not just because I was sad that it was all ending after 10 years, but because I was so happy. Love like between Mac and Harm is hard to come by - the characters were so lucky to have each other all of those years and to finally admit it aloud in the end. JAG has been my favorite show ever since I first saw it on NBC. When Mac's character first came on the scene and I saw the chemistry between Catherine Bell and David James-Elliott, I knew it would be a hit. Over the years, both of your characters have grown and continued to represent the best in people and the military. My husband has become a JAG fan since we married three years ago and he comes from a military family (Vietnam era), so there's a special bond for him. We TiVo JAG and watch it every Saturday morning. Sometimes, though, I have to watch it on Friday night, then hit it again on Saturday morning for the second time - it just gets better! Thanks for all the memories and the emotional roller-coaster; I've loved every minute of it! I just finished watching the finale and it will not be erased!!! Best wishes to both of you in the future - I know it will bring great things. I would be remiss to not say that I hope the future will also bring JAG movie specials! Fridays will never be the same...

My husband started watching JAG and I never got into it until you came on board. You and DJE are a perfect match and made the show worth watching. Thank you for showing myself and my daughters that a woman can compete in a male dominated situation as an equal and still be beautiful, attactive, and feminine. You walked a fine line for nine seasons and pulled it off wonderfully.
My daughters, ages nine and eleven, have more confidence in their abilities and less fear about being considered too boyish because you played Mac as tough yet feminine. Girls need more role models on TV like Mac, and I can only hope they will be portrayed with as much caring and skill as you have shown.

When I first watched you, EVER, it was on the episode 'Lifeline'... in the scene where Mac kisses Harm. My grandmother was in the process of getting me hooked to the show and seeing you two having so much chemistry and heart to do a great show, I fell in love.
Catherine, nobody could have played the hardass yet emotional Sarah MacKenzie better than you. You made her real, made her who she was, and I thank you for it. As an actress and as the character, you've inspired me so much. Thanks for sticking with it for 9 years and working your butt off to keep your fans happy! I know I am. Once again thanks. I'm sad to see JAG end and to see a great combo of characters (Harm and Mac and their relationship being my favorite of course :)... but I adore your work and can't wait to see you in new projects! Mac will always share a space in my heart as a very special woman who can show all of us that no matter how much life deals us we can overcome it if we stay strong and fight hard. No matter what the show the threw at her, she may have struggled in her own way but in the end become stronger for it and each time I've come to love the character more.

Thank you for the wonderful character we all come to love the past 9 years. Without you there won't be a JAG as we know it, we won't see one of the greatest love stories on TV (even with all ridiculous twists and turns called the "dance"), we won't share your joys and sorrows, ups and downs, we won't see an exceptional woman played by an exceptional actress. As you are most certainly a Catherine-the-Great and a woman of 22+ talents it won't be long before we see you again either on a big screen or on TV - and a lot of us will follow you there.

Although I am a relatively recent convert to JAG (I "discovered" the show only in the fall of 2001), the show quickly became an indispensable part of my week. I appreciated seeing a strong woman role model, someone who was successful in what is often considered a man's world. I cheered Mac's successes and felt bad for her missteps, and most of all, I waited (and waited and waited!) for her to connect with Harm. Along the way, your fans were treated to some splendid performances, including those in Take It Like a Man and Four Percent Solution. We will certainly miss the show, and you...but I hope we will see you again soon in another TV show or another movie. Best of luck to you, and Adam, and your adorable little Gemma. You have brought much enjoyment to many people!

My dad was a WWII navy veteran who loved to watch JAG. After his stroke 2 years ago, he and I would watch JAG at home and in the nursing home when he had to be there. It was one of the last things I did with my dad before he died last April. Thank you from my dad and me for many hours of enjoyment. It meant a lot to me.

I admit I didnt really enjoy season 1 but it really was the Harm and Mac dynamic that made me a Jag addict.
Both of you just made my evening. You and David made a great team,so excellent and talented and the chemistry was special and firey. You made it real.
Mac also made Harm better,humbler,Mac tamed Harm and is vry tied to his happiness. Mac was the one that really made Harmon Rabb Jr.fall in love. I resent TPTB for taking all our fun away from this show and especially taking away Harm and Mac. Im looking forward seeing you grace our tv screens and the big screens.

Thank you! Without JAG I don't know how I would've gotten through some of the toughest times in my life. I started watching with Adrift Part 2, but had seen JAG in passing. I don't even know what episode it was that I first saw. I was hooked from the minute I saw it and I haven't missed a single episode since. My sister, who was 18 at the time; she's now 22, was in a horrible car accident in July of 2001 and almost lost her life. I was watching JAG and decided to go scoop out everything I could about the show. That's when I came across your website. I read the biography you have on there and I realized if you could get through what you've been through, then I could too. I will be following your career for all time. There's a little boy that I know that I used to babysit and he loves watching "Bruce Almighty." He's only 5 and I won't let him see the whole movie just yet, but he likes the scene where Susan and Bruce kiss. ;) Enjoy the time you have off with Adam and sweet little Gemma. Where do I start? I want to thank you for 9 wonderful years of JAG. I've enjoyed so many nights watching you play Sarah Mackenzie and interacting with DJE's character! It's fun to go back and watch the earlier seasons and see how much you've grown as an actress. I also wanted to thank you for being such a kind person. One thing I will never forget is when you took time to write a personal message to Choebe aka CB aka Claudia. Anyway, I was so glad you did that. It meant a lot to her and it also meant a lot to me thatyou were sweet enough to do that. =) Also, thanks for answering questions at your message board. After compiling the questions I was elated to receive a "thank you" from you! I wasn't expecting one, but I was on cloud 9 for days! As a woman, I appreciate having the ability to see a character that is strong, highly intelligent, and a true leader, all contained in a beautiful, feminine and alluring woman...that is what "Mac" and you both are. Your characterization grew and grew on most of us males to the point that we were as smitten as the "dense" flyboy.
