My insurance renewal came through this week so I took the opportunity to investigate what cover they would give for the 2012 event. I sent a copy of the "green card" example that Carol has posted so that there was no doubt about what was required. My broker is Adrian Flux and the insurer is Trinity Lane.
1/ All covered with the exception of Macedonia/Montenegro and Bosnia.
2/ A proper "green card" will be issued on application one month before the trip.
3/ There will be no admin fee from either A Flux or Trinity Lane.
4/ I am allowed up to 90 days European travel within a policy year.

Obviously I don't know if the above applies to other insurers so I suggest you check at renewal. I believe that Carol will be posting advice later on this subject, but clearly local short term insurance will be needed for the three areas mentioned. I will be contacting the respective Embassies shortly to check out what the availability of local insurance is and will put a post on the forum when known.

Regards

Pete C
