Thanks for this feedback, it gives us much needed additional information! The problem we have is that the fuel quality in North Africa is apparently very poor (90 Octane with added water) and the Lotus Cortina which has been modified runs on 99 Octane or higher, so we're carrying octane boost.

The cost of running the rally drops significantly if you're invited by a local car group (which we have been). Not sure on the cost of the ferry from Marseille to Tunis but the biggest cost is transporting the car home from Egypt whilst we fly home. A return drive is not an option!

Ces is about halfway through an Arabic course in the hope that our sign reading ability will keep us ahead of the field! Although we all have GPS....

I'll let you know what happens but we'll be flying the Guild Flag!
