Huge fun, where did the day go?

We were never going to win, with our meagre 850cc engine and 5 inch crossply tyres of the Liege, against much more powerful cars.

However, in the rain we had great fun exploring the capabilities of the car and playing with bigger cars that couldn't put down any more power than us, due to the lack of grip.

My son Chris had never driven the Liege before (in fact he'd never driven a rear wheel drive car before) until his first lap today, in a torrential downpour with no roof! I think he was often lapping quicker than me.

Shame we broke a gearbox bearing and had to withdraw towards the end! At least the car got me home, in top gear all the way.
