This is posted on The Jackson Press this morning and it reminded me of those wonderful days when children (mostly girls) used to do this every May First. I particularly remember one of them when we lived in Mitchell South Dakota. My school teacher and her sister lived about half a block down the street from our place and their front walk was lined with tulips. I left my May basket at their front door and hid off to the side.

It makes me VERY SAD knowing that the past couple of generations have no clue as to how FUN May Day was back in my youth. Today it is a time of protests, anger, hatred, meanness, uncontrolled marches that seem to find some kind of satisfaction in destroying everything and everyone they come in contact with. The need for large police presence which is another EXPENSE on the funds needed for police protections.

If I were in charge - All these trouble makers would be warned in the week prior to their law breaking marches that if they blocked the streets - vehicle and pedestrian - interfered with the normal operation of businesses - they would be met with live rounds of Smith & Wesson cough drops intended to permanently end their *coughing*. They want to inflict fear into the people ? it is time to put FEAR into the heads (they have no minds) of these rioters and then carry thru on the orders to behave or suffer the consequences.

These law breaking individuals need to UNDERSTAND that their actions WILL BE MET with fire power so if they wish to protest and march they better do it in a legal and peaceful manner. And those politicians that promote the protests (like that idiot on the Seattle City Council, Socialist Kshama Sawant) should be arrested for inciting rioters. Arrested and jailed for at least thirty days accompanied by a very large fine, one that amounts to the costs of the additional police presence for these *marches*.

How far down the rabbit hole this nation has fallen.

May Day

While the earth remains . . . day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

When I was a young girl in West Michigan, we always celebrated spring and the blooming of the first flowers on May 1. I’d make a basket out of construction paper and fill it with any flowers I could findmostly daffodils and violets. Then I would place the basket on my neighbor’s doorstep, knock on her door, and quickly hide behind a bush. I’d peek out to watch her as she opened the door and picked up her surprise. When she went inside, I’d run home.

The beauty of springtime flowers and the regular changing of the seasons reminds us of God’s faithfulness. When Noah and his family and the animals came out of the ark after the flood waters receded, God gave them this promise: “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22). And He’s been faithful to keep that promise ever since. God “made the worlds,” and He continues to uphold “all things by the word of His power” (Hebrews 1:2-3).

Let’s thank God today for His beautiful creation and for His faithfulness in sustaining His world and us.’

Anne Cetas

For the beauty of each hour
Of the day and of the night,
Hill and vale and tree and flower,
Sun and moon and stars of light,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise
This our hymn of grateful praise.

Look at the wonder of creation and say, “What a wonderful God!”
