Is it possible that the name was Crosskeys Rovers RFC? I have a gold medal that belonged to my great grandfather. The inscription reads 'Crosskeys Rovers RFC Champions' on the front, and on the rear - 'Western Valley League 1911-1912'. His initials are also shown on the front 'GG' - Gilbert Garland. I have no idea about the colours though.

thank you p.salter for that info about your grt grt grandfather, very interesting xkeys rovers rfc eh if the keys colours have always, been black and white.I think its about time we had our own mascot, ponty has got the panda so what could we have that is black an white, let me see the keys penguin, perhaps or the keys magpie as we sometimes steal the games at the end ah ah or even the keys badger as it is a fighter and a performer, just an idea to think about thats all.should find out about colours first bye for now

Hi Paul
Well I never!! Or snap. I have my bampie's medal from 1912. If you forward your email address then I can forward a copy of the photo. His name was Jim Lovell, and his initials are on the front. CrossKeys Rovers I presume played in black and white. There are pictures of teams from similar years up in the clubhouse at Pandy Park, but not the team from 1911-12.
Best wishes
Gerald Lovell

Hi Gerald
If you can send me a copy of the photo of the Crosskeys rugby team of 1911-1912 I'll put it on the website.

Hi - was wondering if you remember my grandfather Emrys White? He used to tell me lots of stories about when he played rugby at crosskeys.
