If you have a list of available proxies (make sure they are anonymous!! the site will tell you), you can connect through Internet Explorer!

First log onto a site like:

http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list?order=port%20desc&offset=100

Then, after you have decided which proxy you want, make a note of the ip number and port number (eg 8080), then do the following:

Click TOOLS at the top of the broswer, then select INTERNET OPTIONS.

When you're ready choose CONNECTIONS from the butons at the top, then select "LAN Settings". You'll notice a checkbox, with "Use a Proxy server for your LAN...", check the box (with tick) and enter the IP and Port details of your chosen proxy. Hit OK and you are away!

(you may need to re-open your browser for any effect to take place.)

NOTE!: Not all proxies are safe! So choose with care. The site above checks its proxy lists every day, but it is wise to jot a few proxy addresses down, just in the case the first one you pick doesn't work/connect. They don't always, so don't worry! It may take a few proxy numbers before you get one that works quickly and nicely.

And to check your IP once you're connected, try:

http://ip.nefsc.noaa.gov/

It's free, and also executes a reverse DNS lookup, so you know you're REALLY anonymous!! If your original IP and host doesn't show, you're on a winner!

Hope this helps.

Have fun!
