"True, Master Yima has a gold." Zeara held her breath, not daring to speculate about whether or not she would be teaching this boy. Bronzes were quite different from golds, at least in her opinion. When she heard what else the boy had to say, she understood him immediately. Careful not to show it (not that Mikhal would be able to see it, not in the darkness that whers preferred), she relaxed. Her hand fell away from the dagger, and she placed a hand on 'rask's crest.
"Indeed," she began, giving 'rask a gentle push to indicate he was to go back to sleep, "there are great differences between a bronze and a gold."
Then, as 'rask refused to leave, she pushed him harder, and made up her mind.
"For one thing," as she pushed more forcefully, using her entire body mass to throw the bronze off balance- without much success- "they are incredibly stubborn, and less inclined to take no for an answer. Most would say golds are like this too, but golds are also often haughty."
'rask knocked her off balance with a slight movement, sending her staggering backwards at an angle.
"Why don't you follow me? 'rask's being a prime example of stubbornness. Come," she adds more forecully to 'rask, who now follows her. Realizing- with help from 'rask's relentless nudging- that Mikhal wouldn't be familiar with her cave, she calls back, "Grab 'rask's tail as it passes you, you won't get lost that way."

((You're probably right. *shudders sympathetically* I hate writers who do that. Maybe they can understand it, but the rest of us slightly less than weird people...? Well, weird in a different sense, maybe. ))
