Subject: Manchester 18 : Bees 18

In the absence of any other posting on the match last Saturday, I would like to congratulate the lads on their performance against the Bees and at the same time commiserate with them over the result. We were 18-13 up until a minute to go when the Bees managed to sneak one in the corner (it was a pretty good try, mind). It would have been a grave injustice if the conversion attempt had gone over, but fortunately the kicker misjudged the strong wind and put it wide.
Manchester deserved the win, having put up an excellent all-round performance but, once again, one or two decisions by the officials went the wrong way and made all the difference. I'll say no more on that.
My man of the match was, without doubt, Isaac, who seemed to be all over the pitch. His commitment is first-class and when he gets the ball, it takes a good defence to touch him. Others who had an excellent game included Wood and Cowley, both worthy of mention.
Bad luck lads. It was a great game without the desired result, but it does show we can do the business when the mood takes us!
