 Brad - He gave it when he left Springfield on the morning of February 11, 1961 for Washington, D.C. to be inaugurated as President. It was a moving and prescient address: he was already threatened with death and was guarded by Pinkerton agents and a couple of soldiers. The train took a circuitous route to avoid possible dangers.
