I believe there was a small quarry in the North End of Eastchester. It was located where the Eastchester Pony League baseball field now sits. I remember as a kid in the mid 1950's playing on what we called the big "White Rock" the top of which was probably 10 feet above the ground. The quarry had been filled in long before, but the big rock remained. It was probably part of the marble formations that extended from Manhattan Island up through Westchester along the Bronx River. Does anyone else remember hearing about the North End quarry area?
