I can remember taking the bus up Route 22/Post Road on a Saturday afternoon to White Plains, with about 5-6 other kids, to see "The Sting" at a movie theatre on Mamaroneck Avenue. The bus fare was 50 cents one way, I think, or maybe even 25 cents. Don't remember the cost of the movie, but I'm sure it was fairly cheap, being a matinee and all.
