I am prety sure that it happened last year. I really think that when they realized before the pageant that Jamaica was gonna be in the semi finals, they knew that if there was a question she would have answered it most intellegently and they want a barbie doll looking girl(like miss czech republic) to win the crown. That is very unfair. we all know that if It was a battle of both beauty and brains Jamaica would have won. Replies: In all fairness Kim, all top six girls were deserving, the result of one & one interviews with the judges the day before. In fact some girls incl Jamaica were called back for 2nd interview. I believe the selection & final placing was done during the interviews, seeing the girls in natural light, & being under less pressure. The Finals was merely a presentation show..presenting the results. No bad feelings, Jamaica did us very proud!! She had the best 'complete package' in the Caribbean, & was the most articulate & intelligent too. Countries like Martinique must realise this is not all about looks!! Her non performance at MU few months ago is a pretty good indication that she wont do well in MW either. Barbados..Definitely one of the best weve seen from Barbados. This tiny island has been trying, improving each year & better preparing their girl. I feel Barbados will be one of the 2 Caribbean girls this year to advance to top 15 Jamaica...another stand out, very poised, comfortable & seen everywhere. She is one of the more photographed contestants and will also benefit from fact that Jamaica has a strong record in Miss World. I feel she will be 1 of the 2 girls to advance from Caribbean to semi finals. Puerto Rico...very ordinary looking latino girl, old features. I dont see her in the runnings at all. Martinique..Despite being attractive, she is hardly seen. I fear her age & personality might be limiting factors. She just doesnt seem vibrant, nor aware enough. Last year Ms Martinique was also attractive, yet still didnt get far. This year will be no different, but I congratulate this small island on finding an attractive delegate. The other Caribbean girls are not considered front runners, although a nice bunch collectively. I wish them well & hope they enjoy their time in Poland.
