Subject: Carla Laemmle

The niece of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle, she is 102 years old and still active!

Born October 20, 1909, she shares a birthday with Bela Lugosi, who was born October 20, 1882.

Carla Laemmle has a small uncredited role at the beginning of Dracula (1931). She is the young lady in the coach who is wearing glasses and reading aloud from a tourist book.

In April 2012 she introduced the film Dracula at the TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood.

Carla Laemmle also had small uncredited roles in The Phantom of the Opera (1925) and Mystery of Edwin Drood (1935).

She delivered the first spoken line of dialogue in Dracula (1931).

Carl Laemmle Jr was her cousin.

Carla Laemmle is the only person who is still living today that appeared in "Dracula." God Bless her.

The only other Universal horror films that still have cast members still living today that I know of are:

SON OF FRANKENSTEIN - Donnie Dunagan

GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN - Janet Ann Gallow - William Smith.
A few of those other child actors may still be alive, but I don't know who they are.

THE MUMMY'S TOMB - Turhan Bey

CALLING DR DEATH - Patricia Morison

HOUSE OF FRANKENSTEIN - Eleanor Verdugo

HOUSE OF DRACULA - Jane (Poni) Adams

SHE-WOLF OF LONDON - June Lockhart
