A subjective topic, and maybe what once frightened us, no longer does...owing to age, life experiences, etc. Nevertheless, we can all cite favorite movies or moments. Ask a dozen people, get a dozen opinions perhaps. That's ok.

Over the years, I guess some of my favorite early "horror" movies were the first two Frankenstein films, and Lugosi's Dracula, also perhaps the first Mummy film, and the later Hammer version with C. Lee as the mummy wasn't bad.

I enjoyed some films cited earlier...and some not. I'll toss in a few that I thought had...well, perhaps some scary moments, depending on one's perspective. Some may be below par. Some, may be different, or just adventure/suspense..and some, maybe applicable moreso to yours truly for whatever reasons. They are not necessarily horror or scary, but you might find some uncomfortable moments, or not. In any case, and in no particular order.....

-What Dreams May Come Come 1998 Robin Williams, in a serious role, searches for his wife in the afterlife.
-Tales from the Darkside, The Movie 1990 has 4 short stories, "Lover's Vow" segment possibly best.
-Duel 1971 Dennis Weaver...moreso suspenseful
-Carnival of Souls...low budget, campy, but not bad
-War of the Worlds...2005 Tom Cruise version
-Hanger 18 1980 Area 51 type flick but interesting
-The Day After 1983 movie version of TV mini series
-Soylent Green 1973 Heston and EG Robinson
-End of Days 1999 Schwarzeneger
-Daylight 1996 with Stallone
-Dante's Inferno 1935 Spencer Tracy
-Purgatory 1999 a TNT movie, a western
-Dreamscape 1984 Dennis Quaid
-Quatermass & the Pit 1967 aka Five Million Years to Earth
-When Worlds Collide 1951 (earier book influenced Flash Gordon story)
-Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde (favored '32 F.March version)
-There are some moments in various serials...some in Flash Gordon, Undersea Kingdom, The Phantom Empire and others
-Many also in several Twilight Zone, Outer Limit episodes
