The monster went blind near the end of "The Ghost of Frankenstein."

The explanation for the monster's blindness was that when Dr Bohmer had Ygor's brain replaced with Dr Kettering's and put into the monster.

Ygor's blood type was not the same as the monster's as Dr Kettering's was.

Using a fictional scientific explanation, Dr Frankenstein explaned that the different blood type would not feed the sensory nerves.

When the Ygor monster went blind, he went berserk and he threw Dr Bohmer against the machinery because he thought Bohmer had played him a trick.

The sparks from the electric machinery caused the lab to catch fire and made the whole place burn up.

Dan is correct about The Ghost of Frankenstein and all its details.

The fourth film in Universal's Frankenstein series, The Ghost of Frankenstein is the first to have someone other than Boris Karloff playing the Monster. Lon Chaney Jr takes over the role for this one. Chaney is the only actor to have played all four major Universal monsters, The Wolf Man, The Mummy, the Frankenstein Monster and Dracula.

The Ghost of Frankenstein is also the first in the series to be reduced to a B-grade production, meaning a smaller budget. However, I have always been impressed with its cast, including Lon Chaney Jr, Cedric Hardwicke, Ralph Bellamy, Lionel Atwill, Bela Lugosi and Evelyn Ankers.
