The Godfather (1972) is one of the greatest motion pictures ever made, and what a cast! Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall and many more.

Hollywood sequels can be notoriously bad, but The Godfather: Part II (1974) is sensational, although the first one remains my favorite.

The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II are being shown at various times from Monday August 1 through Wednesday August 3 on AMC.

Yes...they do this often, advertising...something like Spend some time with the family.

I often catch bits and pieces, always enjoying these films. Probably my favorites, and I enjoy those rare times the "Epic" or "Saga" version is shown, where GF Pts 1 and 2 are in chronological order, and you'll often see added parts from the cutting room floor. Great if you can catch 'em on TV, maybe sometime availalble on-line. I also still enjoyed Part 3, even though it was like 20yrs after. But Pt 1 was my favorite, Pt 2 second, Pt 2 third.
