Rick. I love David Manners in just about anything I've ever seen him in. My favourites from "BIG U" are THE BLACK CAT, THE MUMMY and DRACULA. My favourite non Universals are, of course, JOURNEY'S END, and DEATH KISS.

The film I REALLY want to see is LAST FLIGHT, where he is again with Helen Chandler.

Dracula, The Mummy and The Black Cat from "Big U" are tops in my book as well. The lesser known Mystery of Edwin Drood is another favorite.

Manners was in his thirties when he appeared in these Universal classics, but he lived to the age of 97 or 98, depending on which source you consult.

I found it quite amazing, watching JOURNEY'S END. I had always thought that David Manners was younger than Clive. He played the 18 year old Raleigh so well. Actually they were the same age. I think 3 months apart. David Manners was a really fine actor, and I'm glad we had him as long as we did.
