Well off the top of my head the only Universal films I can think of with any cats playing a role in the plot, is "The Black Cat" 1934 & 1941 versions. And "The Cat Creeps." (1946)

I don't remember there being any murders in the The Black Cat (1934) that involved cats.
I just remember Lugosi having a cat phobia in this movie.

Cats were used in the plot of The Black Cat (1941) but I don't remember all of the plot....been a while since I've seen it.

I recall a trick used with cats in "The Cat Creeps" to flush out the killer.

But anyway, I'll have to watch the 41 Black Cat...and The Cat Creeps again, because I can't recall enough about the cats in these two films.

In the 1934 film, Lugosi throws the knife and kills the cat (not seen) after it walks in and you hear it scream. Mrs. Allison walks in the main room a few moments later in her drug-induced state and this ties in with the cat murder. Apparently, the cat returns later as we see it again. As Poelzig states the black cat is the cat that can never die.

I'll have to watch "The Black Cat" (1934) again. It's been quite a while since I've seen it.
