Hello! Just to tell a quick bit about me. (g) I first saw THE BRIDE in 1960, at the age of 7. It was love at first sight. It was truly glorious, and Boris NEVER scared me one single bit! I also dreamed of growing up to look like Valerie Hobson.

My second love was the great Buster Crabbe. My late father had been a Boy Scout waterfront counselor, and was very appreciative of all swimming events. He was lucky enough to meet Buster Crabbe wnen Crabbe was headed to the Mexico City Olympics in 1968. There were weather delays, so they spent about an hour together, gabbing about swimming, diving and Hawaii. After a while, dad told him that I was an "UBER" Fan of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, as well as NASA, and the man graciously signed a picture of "Flash", saying "Reach for the stars...Buster Crabbe"
I do...but it's a different kind of star in a different way. I'm a laid-off library worker who subbed in the media room. I was the one they came to when seniors asked for something like Dracula, and ended up with Frank Langella!

Well, we have a nice and intelligent lady among us! A refreshing thought. My mother's first husband knew Buster Crabbe at Malibu Beach in the early 50's. He would go there weekely and would swim from Paradise Cove back to Malibu. Buster had his swimming excursions for different days when he'd go out there. You could always spot him warming up on the sand. One day, I'll tell you a story where Buster got involved with a rescue operation that my mother still remembers to this day.

Rick
