What kind of TV set are you running, Gary? I have all the Legacy sets (sans Creature From the Black Lagoon) and they all look good. You're going to see a little film grain in just about every B&W film. As for their packaging, it could be better, yes. I had to take some titles back to Wal-Mart when they had them in stock a few years ago. The plastic tray that holds disc 2 was usually the problem. The DVD was affixed too tightly and getting it off was a killjoy. In one case, one had some bad scratches as a result when I was opening some at customer service. One set had a broken release tab. It was literally impossible to get the DVD out. They were all sent back to Universal as defective. These were 2004 pressings.

Three Stooges Volumes 1 and 2 look and sound great by Sony. A little film grain can be seen in some of them, but it's very minor. Since they are Hi-Def transfers, some very subtle things may be visible on and off, but overall, they are the best quality image I have ever seen. Oh, Son Of Frankenstein on Legacy DVD sets has this snippet excised that you described. What is the running time on the VHS version, so I can compare it to the DVD running time? It's listed on the tape and sleeve. Should be interesting to see if there is any difference.

Rick
