Although it never received the respect that The Twilight Zone did, Rod Serling's Night Gallery series presented many remarkable episodes during its short run on NBC. It was rerun a lot for the balance of the 1970s, then kind of fell off the radar. It didn't fare too well in syndication because many of its episodes were either too long or too short to fit into the traditional half hour format, and were often ruined by editing.

Some especially memorable season two segments include "Class of '99" with Vincent Price, "Pickman's Model" with Bradford Dillman and "Green Fingers" with Elsa Lanchester and Cameron Mitchell.

"Pickman's Model" was adapted from an H.P. Lovecraft story. Many of the Night Gallery stories were adaptations of classic or obscure horror stories.
