In Hack for Christmas, Part 5

(S) I would like to go first.
And…..she did, and then he did. The next 4 hours and 13 minutes contained shouting, swearing, crying, snide remarks, accusations, denials, explanations, loving words and …………. ….……………. finally…. forgiveness. The end of the fourth hour found them spooned together holding each other. Sarah was drifting off to sleep as Harm slowly rubbed her back and whispered to her.
Harm awoke at about 03:12 Christmas morning when the furnace came on again and he sat up trying to figure what had happened. He felt her eyes on him and he turned to her:
(H) I’m sorry honey I didn’t mean to wake you.
(S) You didn’t. I have just been waiting.
(H) For what?
(S) You to make me your wife.
(H) Oh, we need to be undressed for that.
(S) As AJ always says, “Make it so.”
Harm took his orders cheerfully, stood, and stripped down. He slowly pulled off her socks, the bottom of her sweats and then the panties. She rose up and he took care of her top and bra.
He kneeled naked on one knee at the end of the bed and she crawled down the bed to face him.
(H) I kneel naked in front of you with no worldly possessions on other than the love I have for you. I have loved you for so long and want to ask you now, Sarah MacKenzie, will you marry me?
(S) Yes, my naked squid, I want to marry you as soon as we can make it happen.
Harm unsnapped his dog tag chain and found the vintage engagement band between the silencers. He took it off the chain and slid it on her ring finger.
(H) This is the ring my Grandfather Rabb gave to Grams so many years ago and now I give it to you. On the inside it has the word “eternity” engraved there and that is how long I pledge to love you.
(S) Thank you, it is so beautiful. I will need to ask Grams about it the next time we meet. Now that we are properly engaged, I have an overflow of love I want and need to share with you.
(H) You are a very lucky wife tonight because I am going to ask you to make the first most important decision of our short married life. Condom or not?
(S) Not. I want to be the mother of every one of your children and there is no better time to start than right now. Now, come up here so we can let our married life begin!
And they did begin but at a much slower pace than she had anticipated…..or wanted. He showed her that he was in no hurry at all and brought her along slowly and deliberately as she coaxed him onward. He took time to pay homage to many of her erogenous areas that he had found, much to her chagrin. After what seemed like hours of foreplay to her, they finally joined ever so slowly and sweetly until she took command and they quickly charged up the hill together. They both lay exhausted when it was over because nothing had ever been like that before ....……………ever. After being asleep for a couple hours, they did it more normally the next time.
Since they had planned to go to the motel breakfast at 08:30, they enjoyed themselves again an hour before and also together in the shower. They enjoyed breakfast even though they felt everyone there knew how they had just spent the night. After getting back to the room, they talked about what was to come and their need to talk to his mother and father. They decided to make the phone call at 11:00 EST since Frank and Trish should be up by then. Harm finally placed the call:
(H) Mom is that you?
(T) Yes son. Merry Christmas! Where are you? We tried to call yesterday and this morning. Are you in D.C.?
(H) No, Sarah and I are in Cumberland Maryland and I have exciting news. I asked Sarah to marry me this morning and she said yes.
(T) That’s great. When will the wedding be?
(H) That is still in the planning stage. Where are you? I thought I just heard Grams in the background.
(T) That’s because you did. We decided to spend Christmas with her this year and here we are in Belleville. Let me put her on the line.
(Grams) Did she just say that Sarah MacKenzie agreed to marry you?
(H) That’s right Grams. Sarah accepted my proposal.
(Grams) If you are in Cumberland, why don’t you come on up here so we can all meet her again and be together?
(H) We would like to but it’s not quite that simple. I had problems with the car which means that I must go back to Frederick to pick it up. If everything goes ok, we might be able to be there by 5 PM tomorrow if that is OK.
Sarah moved off the bed and made a bathroom call which allowed Harm to tell Grams of special plans he wanted her to make, with Trish’s help. As Sarah returned:
(Grams) That would be fine.
(H) I will call you again tomorrow after we find how things are working out if that is OK?
(Grams) Call when you can. We love you. Bye for now.
Harm told Sarah about some of the parts of the conversation she could not hear and reinforced that it would be good to go to Belleville to see everyone and Sarah quickly agreed.
The rest of the morning and most of the afternoon was spent doing the horizontal mambo and in other interesting endeavors. They dressed again close to 16:00 and made their way across the street to the small mall even though it was closed. They looked around Macy’s and Penny’s windows where Harm took an interest in the dresses in the Bridal window.
(S) Why are you so interested here? We haven’t even selected a wedding date yet.
(H) Deciding which kind of dress I would like you to wear. Most show entirely too much cleavage for a woman that has chosen to be faithful to only one man.
(S) Cleavage is the “in” thing these days, the more skin showing and the bigger the boobs the better.
(H) Maybe, but I think it would look so much more “classy” to have lace or nice embroidered designs covering the top of your beautiful breasts. Me being impressed by them is more important than showing most of them to everyone, isn’t it?
(S) Yes. They are only for your enjoyment and our children’s nourishment from now on. So big boobs don’t impress you anymore?
(H) Yours do, but I would rather that everyone else not see how great yours are.
(S) So, we choose the dress while we are together…..right? Do I get to select the color of your suit?
(H) Yes, I will want your input about it.
After getting past the wedding talk and eating dinner, they ended back at the motel for more marital action.
(H) What if I am successful in getting you pregnant today? Will you have a problem with that?
(S) It will be a wonder if you have not already done that. I have enjoyed all the practice we have been doing.
(H) Yea, me too. It would kind of rush the wedding, wouldn’t it?
(S) Not to worry now, just keep it up and we might just be lucky enough to have that problem to deal with. What are you going to think if I get big as a barn?
(H) Like shouting “I am the one that made her that way.”
(S) So, you are looking forward to me not being able to see my toes?
(H) I don’t guess that part applies but I am really going to get into the part about a new little life that you and I have created.
(S) So am I sweetheart, so am I. Merry Christmas Harm. I’m sorry I left my gift for you back at my place. I love you.
(H) Merry Christmas to you. I also have your gift under my tree but honey; we are sharing the greatest gift any two people can give to each other. I love you so much Sarah.
They decided when they needed to wake up so they could be on the road by 08:00 and set the alarm clock before joining for the rest of the evening. Being engaged was a lot of fun.
Monday Morning
(Day after Christmas)
They were both standing close to the interchange leading up to I-68 at 08:00. Sarah was holding up the new sign that said “Frederick” and Harm was trying to make the seabags stand up straight. About 25 minutes passed until a black Ford slowed up. As it pulled past to stop, Harm noticed the red and blue lights kind of hidden at the bottom of the window. He mouthed “cops” to Sarah and they both took a deep breath just knowing they were in trouble now.
The female officer in the driver’s seat lowered her window:
(Gerry) We are returning to Frederick and we can give you a lift.
(S) Thank you. That would help a lot.
Harm opened the back door and put the bags over close to the other door and both slid in, took off their covers and opened their coats.
(B) My name is Ben and my lovely partner here is Gerry, and please, no snickering about it. We are officers on the Frederick Police force.
(H) My name is Harm and this is my partner Sarah and we are in the Navy.
(Gerry) Sarah, are you carrying?
(S) Yes. How did you know?
(Gerry) Please hand the weapon butt first if you will.
Sarah looked at Harm in bewilderment and he moved his hand up under her skirt as she spread her legs, unsnapped the strap, pulled the gun and handed it over.
(Gerry) Whew….. I was not expecting his hand to go up your skirt like that. Is there a round in the chamber?
(S) No. It has 8 in the clip. How did you know?
(Gerry) I’m a cop and I know how uncomfortable those holsters can be at times. You had that look on your face. Nice weapon by the way but I wouldn’t feel comfortable knowing there was a loaded gun behind me.
(S) Yes, Harm had a smithy lighten it up for me and the handles he added are much smoother to the touch. He and I carry most of the time.
(B) If you both have had breakfast we should make good time. We ate at the Greasy Spoon in Frostburg.
(H) We just finished ourselves. Thanks for stopping because it was getting cold out there.
(B) Since just about everyone in Frederick are Army, I’m guessing you are not based there.
(S) Your right. We are based in Norfolk but had to leave our car in Frederick with friends because we were having problems with it.
(B) Does your friend have a common address in Frederick?
(H) I don’t know how common it is but it is 7053 Retton Rd on the Northwest side. They said the car is fixed now.
(B) I have a cousin that lives on Retton. It will not be much out of our way so we can drop you there if you want. Just sit back and relax and it will not take too long.
Harm talked quietly to Sarah and they agreed she had done the best at drawing people out so he would feign sleep again like before.
(Gerry) It looks like the warm car is getting to Harm.
(S) Yes, we didn’t get much sleep last night because he asked me to marry him yesterday and I accepted.
(Gerry) I guess Ben and I can relate to that.
(S) After being partners for 8 years, we decided yesterday to throw the rules to the wind and make our lives work. I know it is going to cost us dearly but we could no longer stand by and let our love go to waste. We can always get other jobs where we can live full lives together. We only get to do this life thing one time and we have denied our love for far too long.
(Gerry) I wish we had your courage. We are in the same boat but we need these jobs to pay the bills.
(S) Real life has always demanded adherence to the rules but after receiving great advice from people on this trip, we now understand life is too short not to be together. We want the house, 2 ½ kids, white picket fence, and everything that goes with it. We want to spend every day of our lives together.
(Gerry) We want that too but our timing stinks. If it isn’t one thing, it is another.
(S) Sounds like our life’s story. If money is the problem, go on a saving spree and sock everything you can away for a while. Every town needs police but the good ones can find a job anytime they need one. If you need to believe that, call some of your old police friends and you will find they can always make room at their station for you. It might be tough for a while but wouldn’t life be better together? Sure it will take some push, but, so what is new. If you didn’t have it, you would both be janitors.
(B) So your advice is to “go for it”, consequences be damned?
(S) Yes, but…………..you must keep it real. We both got to the point that nothing else mattered much if we could not share each other’s life. Our first 8 years was like training for the big time with no hope of ever performing in the show.
(Gerry) How was this decision received by your boss?
(S) We don’t know yet………..but his acceptance or rejection no longer matters that much to us. We know he could make our lives difficult and transfer us but……………………we now belong to each other for life. He can never change that.
But, what do I know? It took almost 8 whole years for us to get to this point. I guess that makes us “slow learners.”
(B) Yes, but what you say rings true for us also. We are getting to the point where we also want and need to be together all the time.
(Gerry) Ben, would you be willing to step out and put it all on the line……..for us?
(B) Yes. Like Sarah said, we could go anywhere and get a job if they wouldn’t let us stay here. We could be man and wife and be there for each other…….all the time.
(Gerry) That almost sounds like a proposal…….of sorts.
(B) Baby, when I propose to you I will do better than that. Can we meet after work so we can plan what to do next?
(Gerry) All you need to do is give me the time and place.
(B) What will Harm think about your conversation with us when you tell him?
(S) Who do you think keeps me straight? He is a people collector and has made big changes for the better in so many people’s lives. I guess some of it is rubbing off on me.
(Gerry) Well thanks for being candid with us. We know life is passing us by and agree that it is a time to take action. Thank you, Sarah.
(B) What was the address again on Retton?
(S) Time to wake up the boss. Honey………… what is the address on Retton road?
Harm went thru the exercise of acting like he was waking up and finally answered:
(H) 7053 Retton Road. Brick house with red trim.
(B) Sorry to wake you but we are only a couple miles away before I need to turn. Your wife has been a big help to us by giving us good advice.
(H) She is good about that. Is that clock right? It looks like about 10:40.
(S) 10:41 to be exact. Will Jeb’s wife be home?
(H) She should be. Ben, I don’t know how to thank you guys. Dropping us by the house solves one of our largest problems. Getting a ride into the housing division was going to be a major problem for us.
(Gerry) Sarah, here is your piece back and thanks for giving it up.
Harm took it and reinserted it back into her holster, after she spread her legs, and noticed Gerry turning away in embarrassment. Sarah winked at him and he just returned a smile.
Harm and Sarah both put on their coats and buttoned up as they pulled in front of the house. He removed the bags and Sarah said their final goodbyes before Ben pulled away. Harm started his SUV and started cleaning off the snow as Sarah went to the door of the house. Jeb’s wife invited her in and she thanked her for letting them leave the car. She poured them two cups of coffee in foam cups and let Sarah fix it the way they liked it. When it looked like Harm was ready, she thanked her again and returned to the car with the coffee. Harm stood drinking coffee and waved thanks to Jeb’s wife before getting in and leaving.
Sarah retrieved the maps and asked what was next. Harm pulled into a shopping area on the north side of town where JC Penny was.
(H) We have enough time to make it to Gram’s place by 16:00 but we need nicer clothes for the family gathering. I don’t know what you have in mind, but if you bought a knee length dress like those we saw in the bridal shop, you would look real nice for those in my family that will not be able to come to our wedding. You might even be able to use it later for the wedding. What have you decided to do about color?
(S) Sounds like a good plan to me. I think I need to try on different colors to see how they look.
Harm pulled around and parked close to Penny’s and they went directly to bridal. After looking at many, only two appealed to both. She tried on different colors, not being completely satisfied with any color they had. White would work but it did not enhance her skin tone and after finally receiving all of Harm yesterday, she wasn’t really feeling very virginal right then.
