Subject: Divide for Armholes

I've just started trying to crochet a 4 piece pram set (JustCrochet pattern JC01A). I'm down to row 4 of the skirt part of the sweater. I'm starting row 4 and it says to divide for armholes, I don't know what that means. How do I divide for armholes?

Row 4 reads...

(Divide for armholes) 3ch, *1 V stitch into 1ch space of shell, 1dc into sc, * rpt from *to* (3 times more), 1 V stitch into 1ch space of next shell, 2dc 1chinto sc, miss 7 shell groups, 2dc into next sc, *1 V stitch into 1ch space of shell, 1dc into next sc, *rpt from *to* (8 times more), 1 V stitch into 1ch spce of shell, 1dc into next sc, *rpt from *to* (3 times more), 1 V stitch into 1ch space of shell, 1dc into 3rd of 3ch. Turn.

Thanks.
