Hi Donna:

The term Mobius means the pattern will be twisted.
Take a look at this page for information on a mobius strip:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%B6bius_strip

So when beginning a pattern we are generally told to be careful not to twist your foundation chain. Your pattern will call for making the chain straight and putting one twist in it before joining. This will make all the stitches you do end up looking like the mobius strip in the photo on the page linked above.
