You know gal, you don't have to have a particular pattern for a prayer shawl at all, a wonderfully simple pattern, and just doing the prayers as you crochet is really the basis for the prayer shawl, praying for the one you are making the shawl for, and asking God's blessings, are as wonderful as it gets. If you have something you found for a nice shawl, go ahead and make it, doesn't have to be a fancy dancy pattern, just something so the person knows you care, and she is loved and prayed for.
