The deer screeched with pain. Her time was coming. She stopped in her tracks, swaying uneaisly. But as the strong wolf Zev reached for her throat, he caught her, slamming her intantly to the floor. She began coughing and spluttering as the life left her body. With one last inch of power she gave a small kick of her leg.
