Subject: The weekend part 4

Sorry about the delay.

The characters aren't mine, mistakes are...

Part 4

An hour later we are still on the floor of the boathouse. We've been exploring each other thoroughly, but still I know there's more to figure out about this man. What I do know now is that he's an amazing lover, and that he's thoughtful and very snuggly.

“Should we be heading back?” I wonder if Grandma will worry about us and maybe come looking. I'm not feeling great about Harm's grandmother finding us butt naked on the floor of Harm's boat house.

Harm sit up and look down at my naked form. He smiles as his eyes wonder up my body and finally meet my eyes. “You are beautiful.”

I sit up as well and run my hand through his hair. “So are you.”

He kisses me deeply. “Let's get dressed and we'll head back.”

I rise and start to put on clothes when it occurs to me that tomorrow we have to leave this place. The weekend have been perfect, but I feel a dark cloud hanging over us.

“Don’t do it.”

Harm looks at me funny. “Do what?”

“Don’t join the CIA, Harm.” I entwine my hands nervously and bite my lower lip. “Please.”

He looks hesitant. “I’ll get to fly.”

I know that he’ll do more than flying. He’ll be asked to take part in undercover missions, and I don’t know how much more luck he has left. He’s avoided death so many times, one time he won’t make it if he continues to tempt faith. “You’ll have to do more than that, Harm.”

“Maybe, but at least I’ll have a job. I’ll get to serve my country.” He steps closer to me. “Mac, are you giving me an ultimatum?”

I’m shocked that he would ask me that. Then I think about it and maybe I haven’t expressed myself clearly enough when it comes to my feelings for him.

“No, I wouldn’t do that.” I take his hand and smile. “I’m here no matter what you decide.”

He smiles warmly. “Good. I’ll think about it though, and whatever I decide we’ll discuss it before I let Clay know my decision.”

We kiss and then we leave the boathouse hand in hand. I look forward to having dinner with Harm’s aunt and her family tonight. It’s a shame the weekend is almost over, and that we have to leave tomorrow. This place has given me back something I thought I’d lost.


We have a nice lunch with grandma, and she tells me more about the farm and its history. She’s such a great storyteller that I find myself lost in her words, and I can see that Harm feels the same way. He takes my hand as we sit there and listen about Harm’s great grandfather and his love for the upper class lady who’s family disowned her for marrying the lower class man.

“Oh, look at the time. I didn’t mean to keep you guys for so long, I’m sure you have a lot more interesting things to do than listen to an old lady.” Grandma says suddenly.

“Grandma, we enjoy your stories.” Harm looks at me for confirmation and I nod. “Absolutely, I could listen to you forever,” I say.

“Well, I should go see that the horses have water and then I’ll have a nap.” Grandma stands and start to clear the table.

“Grandma, we’ll do this.” Harm hurry to stand and he starts to clear the table. Grandma pats his back and smiles. “See you later.”

“I can give the horses water.” I say as I too stand. My plan is to read a book and relax until we have to leave for dinner. I kiss Harm and head outside. Black Beauty comes running when I get close to the fence and I smile as I reach out to touch his sweet face. I spend a few minutes talking to him before I give them water and walk back to the house.

Harm and I get comfortable in the living room with a book each; we end up with me sitting between his legs on the couch, since we can’t stay away from each other. After thirty minutes the books are forgotten and we’re making out like teenagers, and Harm’s hands are finding their way under my shirt.

“Don’t start something we can’t finish.” I say this between kisses.

Harm laughs as he removes his hands and push me away. “Okay, let’s go for a walk instead.”

“Sure.” I stand and take his hand. He leads me outside and we walk back to the boathouse where we make passionately love again. I don’t understand how I managed to stay away from him for so many years, because now when he looks at me in a certain way I just need him.

“Wow!” Harm says as he collapses on the blanket beside me. “Oh my God.”

I wrap myself around him and I let out a moan. “That was amazing. Let’s do it again.”

“Give me a minute.” He laugh softly as he pulls me close. “I’m sorry about this, you deserve better than the floor of a boathouse.”

“I don’t care where we are.” I reassure him and I truly mean it. I’m happy in a way I didn’t think was possible.

Harm rolls us around and he kiss me deeply. “I love you.”

I’m surprised, but now I’m so happy I could explode. “I love you too.” We share looks of love and soon we’re making love again. I could do this forever with him.


The dinner at Aunt Lisa is nice. The whole family make me feel welcome, and I get to hear stories about Harm as a kid. After dinner, Aunt Lisa pulls me aside and thank me for helping Harm find out what happened to his father. She lets me know that not knowing what happened to her brother had kept her awake many nights wondering, and that the whole family found peace when they finally knew.

“I was happy to help.” I return the hug she gives me. Harm’s family is loving and sweet, just like Grandma Sarah. Harm is a different man when he’s with them, and he’s great with his nieces and nephews, reminding me that our baby deal isn’t that far off. What I’m most surprised by is the way he’s holding my hand and the way he’s treating me like a girlfriend. In the past he’s been so distant with his girlfriends in public, and I imagined that that was normal for him, but I’m pleased that he’s different with me.


That night I fall asleep in Harm’s arms with a happy smile on my face. When I wake up the next morning, I feel rested and ready for a new week at JAG. I can finally put Paraguay behind me and look forwards to what’s next for me. Him and me.

“What are you thinking about?” Harm ask me after he kiss me good morning.

“Just thinking that I feel a lot better. Thank you for bringing me here, Harm.” I run my hand down his chest and caress him.

“I’m glad you’re here.” He’s so sweet when he say it and I smile.

“Me too.” I feel his lips on mine and I loose myself in his touch. I open my eyes as he suddenly break the kiss and move out of bed. I watch him as he look for something in his pants pocket.

“I have something for you.” He holds a jewelry box in his hand as he get back into bed. He opens it and I’m looking at a shiny ring. “I had this with me when I went to Paraguay, but I was an idiot and I never told you how I feel. Mac… Sarah, I love you. Will you marry me?”
