Subject: The weekend part 5

The final part. At least for now. I want to do a continuance when I have more time to write.

The characters don't belong to me, mistakes does...


Part 5

It’s past nine when we walk into the kitchen hand in hand. Grandma is reading the newspaper and she smiles when she see us. We say good morning and share a sweet look, before I hold my hand for Grandma to see.
Harm looks like he’s about to burst. “We’re engaged.”
Grandma stands and let out a loud congratulation before she hugs us both. “This is very good news for an old grandmother.”
“We wanted you to be the first to know.” Harm put his arm around me. “This weekend has changed our relationship, and we are finally ready to take the next step.”
“I’m really happy for the two of you.” Grandma hugs us again. We settle down by the table and have breakfast. I enjoy my last meal here before I have to go back to D.C. I’m so thankful for the weekend I’ve had, it has been so much better than I ever hoped for. Back in my mind, I wonder about Harm’s decision about joining the CIA. What will he decide? Will support him either way, but I have a hope that he’ll decide on something else.
“It’ll be quiet here when you both leave. Please come back soon.” Grandma smiles in my direction as she say this and I reassure her that the weekend has been amazing and that I would love to come back very soon.
The breakfast ends too soon and we take our packed bags and walk outside to the car with them. I walk over to the horses and Black Beauty comes to say goodbye, while the two older horses’ only raises their heads and look at us before they continue grassing. I say goodbye to Beauty and pat him once more before I walk back to the car where Grandma and Harm are waiting.
“Take good care of this one Harmon. She’s special.” Grandma say this as she hugs Harm.
“Yes, ma’am.” Harm releases his grandmother and she turns to me. “It was nice to finally meet you gain, Sarah.”
I hug her. “You too, Grandma. We’ll come back as soon as we can.”
As we drive away from the farm, Harm takes my hand and kiss it. “I’m not joining the CIA, Mac.”
I look at him. “I hope you’re doing this because you don’t want to, not because of me.”
“It’s mostly because I don’t want to, but it’s also because of you. I want to do something that don’t take me out of town.” He smile and takes his eyes off the road for a second to look at me. “I love you.”
I smile and my heart is beating faster. I have everything I could ever want now. “I love you too.”
