The characters aren't mine..
Mistakes are..

Here's the rest of chapter 5.

Lost Chapter 5 b

Mac had been asleep for most of the flight home. Every now and then she woke up because she was dreaming about being locked up and escaping. In one dream she even shot and killed Harm in cold blood. Some of the dreams didn't make sense, like the one where she was held captive by the Admiral and Bud at JAG. She figured she was just very homesick.

“Ma'am, we're landing soon. An ambulance is standing on the ground ready to take you to Bethesda,” a nurse said.

“That sounds too good to be true,” Mac said with a smile.

“It must sound pretty good to you after everything you've been through,” the nurse said and checked Mac's IV.

“You have no idea,” Mac said and thought about seeing Harm again.

JAG Headquarters

Harm was happy and nervous at the same time. Mac was coming home, and in two hours he could go see her at Bethesda Hospital. He had bought flowers and a cute little teddy bear, and he felt silly when he thought about it.

“Are you on your way out, or do you have time to talk about the Walters case?” Sturgis asked from the doorway.

“I've got time. Are you looking to deal?” Harm asked.

“Six months confinement and discharge from the Navy?” Sturgis suggested.

“He wants out?” Harm was surprised.

“He just want to take his punishment and get it over with. The Petty Officer knows what he did was wrong,” Sturgis said.

Harm smiled. “We have a deal. I'll suggest it to the convening authorities and I'll get back to you.”

Sturgis nodded. “So, she's coming home.”

“Yeah, finally,” Harm said and sobered up.

“What?” Sturgis asked.

“I don't know,” Harm hesitated. “I don't know what to expect. The details of what happened while she was held captive is very limited.”

“Are you afraid of what you'll find out?” Sturgis questioned.

“I guess I am,” Harm admitted.

“I guess that's normal, Harm.”
“I keep thinking that I could have lost her this time,” Harm continued. “And I wasn't there to help find her. I know it would have been impossible for me to do anything over there, no one except from Webb knew who to ask in order to find them, but being there would have been better than to be here.”

“Mac won't hold it against you, Harm,” Sturgis reassured. “She'll understand why you stayed put.”

“I know. But I hate feeling helpless, and I've never felt more helpless than I did before she was found. I felt even more helpless when the Admiral told me her condition. There's nothing I can do for her.”

“That's where you are wrong, Harm. Mac will need you more now than ever before,” Sturgis said with a warning tone.

Bethesda Naval Hospital

Harm was nervous when he knocked on the door leading to Mac's hospital room. He opened the door carefully and saw Mac lying in the hospital bed. She looked small and weak, her face pale and her eyes closed.

“Commander Rabb?”

Harm nodded and closed the door again. “Commander,” Harm greeted.

“Commander Finn Lee. You are Colonel Mackenzies next of kin?”

“That's right,” Harm said and offered his hand.

“I'm the Colonel's Doctor. She is stable and we're pleased with her progress. You are aware of her injuries?”

“There's an infection as far as I know,” Harm said.

“That's right. The Colonel is septic, which means that an infection spread through her bloodstream. It's basically an attack on the entire body and the death rate is high. Fortunately non of her organs have failed, which is a small wonder considering how long it took for her to get treatment.” Commander Lee's voice was serious as he explained.

“She could have died?” Harm asked.

“She almost did. However, the treatment is working and she is out of danger now. This doesn't mean that she won't have a long road to recovery. I'm talking months of taking it easy, and then she can start physiotherapy and start building up her body again.”

Harm nodded. “I understand.”

“She will need a good support system around her,” Commander Lee warned.

“I'm prepared to be there every step of the way,” Harm answered honestly.

Commander Lee smiled. “I'll tell you one thing, the Colonel is one hell of a Marine. I think your biggest challenge will be to keep her from rushing her recovery.”

Harm offered a smile of his own. “I know.”

“I'll leave you to see her now. If there's any questions just have the nurse page me. I'll see you later Commander,” Commander Lee said and offered his hand.

Harm shook the other man's hand before opening the door to Mac's room.
