I was 12 when I arrived at Danesbury,and remember only to well the mental and sexual abuse,that was taking place!!!Not just other boys,but the staff as well!! We were woken by a leather belt,across our feet..which explains why even to this Day,I sleep knees up!!!! And as for the wooden tiled floor,I polished it on many occasions!! Mr Norris was the Gym master,and a good guy..However in 1968 till early 1970 when I was there,our artmaster,a Mr.Harris lived with his wife,within the grounds/he was renound for sexualy abusing scores of boys!!! I also remember Matron,she was very kind....My number in the locker room was 17,...the dorms had names after famous people starting with Fleming/ie-penicilon!!!!anyhow thats just the tip of the Iceberg,Oh and its good to know its been demolished/Anything else will have to wait as Im off to bed now!!! hope we can exchange a few more memorys,please keep in touch??? pete.
