Subject: St Georges Freshfield Formby

I was in St Georges in the 1970,s and spent 3 years and 10 months there, i became trapped in the system an sadly went on to go to Detention Centre (Foston Hall Derbeyshire) Borstal ( Hindley-Wigan) then into the prison system Walton-Liverpool-then the infamous Strangeways in Manchester.there was Risley Remand Centre and Red Bank on the way as well.thankfully I escaped the system to eventually found good employment and have been in the same job now for 30 years, I have 5 kids my own house, these places taught me respect for other people and there property,I wish i could say the same for the institutions of today, which includes the drug culture which was not as vibrant at that time. there was abuse in all these places some physical some mental some sexual, although none of these ever happended to me. what are your recollections of the system overall and did you escape
