Subject: A Missing Childhood

When I look back on my past it is with contempt to the people who placed me in approved schools I was 11 yrs old when I was first sent to one of these institutions the regime was as if we were in the army we were not allowed to show any feelings and we were not allowed to be children and have any emotions like a child should this was a sign of weakness and to top this we were beaten and abused by members of staff who were supposed to look after us. Approved school taught me nothing only not to trust authority figures as they knew what was going on in these places but chose to ignore it it as it really didnt matter as we were rubbish so who cared what happened to us. Some people seem to view there days with rose coloured spectacles I can remember every minute of what happened to me in these places and it will be with me for life. I survived some havent been strong enough to live with the memories of the damage that was done to them a few of these were friends I can never get back my childhood its gone forever but i still have my life and try and make the most of it the system didnt break me and never will I will not let it because then the system has won and the things that happened to us will be forgotten.
