I made it despite the system, sent to Approved School ( Knotley Hall ) aged 10 .... on to Rochester Borstal ( via the Scrubs ) aged 15 in 1972 ... lasted 10 months, back to Rochester in 1974 for a fresh whack which lasted 11 more months , helped to build Cookham Wood, not many people know that the Rochester Borstal boys built that place ! ... released in September 1975 .... to this day i am still free, the system did NOTHING for me, save how to be more successful at burglary etc .... I will NEVER see the 'inside' again, and its not because of anything that was taught me by the regime/establishment ... bottom line for me was ... I finally grew up, got a job and a girlfriend and that was it, found out there was more to life ....
