There have been many times when I have judged a pageant and the judges have shown surprised faces. Not always is it a unanimous expression, but more "what did you see that I didn't". That is why I love judges having different backgrounds from different areas. They always look for something special and every judge is different. I am not all that surprised when people say the judge's looked shocked, but like I said they might have been shocked for different reasons. All it takes is one judge to completely fall in love with a contestant or completely dislike a contestant for the line up to change. -- Rio Grande Valley Pageant Scene
